Founded in March 1989 with paid-in capital of \ 35 billion and 144 staffs, Kumho Petrochemical Co. and Mitsui Chemical Co. in Japan put fifty to fifty share investment to make 65 thousand-ton factories on the basis of world-class technologies of Mitsui Chemical Co., Ltd according to the newest method of construction.

KMCI is recognized as a company for the superior environmental safety by obtaining health security management system, OHSAS18001(Aug. 2000).
